How long will it take to receive my Life Alarm System?
It should take no longer than
3 business days. If you need your system immediately,
Life Alarm can ship out your system over night excluding
weekends and holidays. An over night shipping charge is
an additional $30.00.
How is the Life Alarm system installed?
The Life Alarm system is easily
self installed and is just like hooking up an answering
machine. We also send along a step by step instruction
booklet with a toll-free technical support phone number.
What happens if the power goes out at my home?
The Life Alarm System has a rechargeable
back-up battery that will keep your Life Alarm operating
for up to 18 hours. Once your power is restored, the back-up
battery automatically recharges for a possible outage
in the future.
Do I speak into the pendant?
No. The Life Alarm base unit is
the only device that will pick up with two-way-voice.
What is two-way-voice?
Two-way-voice is where the Life
Alarm operator can talk to the subscriber and the subscriber
can talk back to operator via the Life Alarm system.
What if the Life Alarm operator can't hear me?
The Life Alarm operator treats
every signal as an emergency unless you tell them no emergency
exists.
How far away from the base system will the pendant
work?
The pendant will communicate with
the base approximately 300 feet away. The system will work
up to 300 ft depending on the structure of the home.
What if I accidentally press the button on my system
or pendant?
When the monitoring center responds,
just tell them you pressed the button by mistake.
Is there any contract obligation?
No. You may cancel your service
at any time.
Is this service paid for by any insurance, Medicare
or Medicaid?
No. Any coverage you may be entitled
to must be arranged between you and your carrier.
How often should I test my system?
The system will perform its own auto test once a month. You may choose to have your system perform an auto test weekly, bi- monthly, or monthly by contacting our Life Alarm Services. However, you the client MUST test your Life Alarm system manually using your transmitter at least once a month. It is the client's responsibility, not Life Alarm Services to have and maintain an operational telephone line and electrical power connected to the Life Alarm system, in order for it to function properly. Any failed or unsuccessful test of your Life Alarm system requires you to call Life Alarm Services at 1-800-780-5433 immediately to replace your system.
Can Life Alarm be Used with digital cable telephone systems?
No, at the present time there are no systems available that will operate with Voice Over Internet Protocol(VOIP) digital telephone services.
Is there a charge for unreturned equipment that I get from Life Alarm Services?
Yes, there is a $250.00 charge for equipment not returned directly to Life Alarm Services.
